Sharnee BEARD, COOK & CATERER

I’m Sharnee, born and raised in Wheatbelt, Western Australia and inspired as a child by the skilled women cooks in my family.  They used the best in-season ingredients to create dishes big on flavour and celebration.  Food was central to all life’s events and continues to be one of my greatest passions. I believe that we are all capable of cooking fabulous food at home. Food is one of life’s greatest pleasures!

CAREER EXPERIENCE

In 2007 I began my career in food, starting my own catering business, Wild Strawberry Catering, which delivered customised catering menus through the wheatbelt of Western Australia. For the next decade, the business continued to expand, with services also including contemporary cakes and cooking classes.

I specialise in creating menus that suit a relaxed, fun Australian style. My customers have included large corporate organisations, local government and the education department. Catering for small intimate gatherings, parties, business conferences, weddings, community events and festivals have all been part of my experiences.

I have also developed a passion for teaching cooking classes. From children to adults, I have taught classes to all ages and cooking skill levels. Including as part of school programs, I designed and delivered a Junior MasterChef program for high school students for five years in selected Wheatbelt towns.

Prior to catering, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management, with honours, in 2003 and worked as an agronomist. I am a slight science nerd at heart and approach cooking with a healthy injection of food science education.

Delicious menus take good planning, which takes time. You want your menu to be cohesive, using budget friendly ingredients, but still with that exciting seasonal wow-factor and you want most of it to be done before your guests arrive, so that you get to enjoy your own event!

I have designed our Table & Taste Club and Cooking Classes to allow you to build a strong repertoire of go-to delicious dining experiences that you can effortlessly put together for your family and friends, at home.

Food is all about the taste and variety. Exciting flavour combinations, outstanding ingredients and a world of cooking styles.

FOOD

Food is fun and we think that cooking is too. Anyone is capable of learning to cook fabulous menus.  It should be enjoyable and low stress. That is why we have researched and designed the recipes so that they are suitable for all skill levels, with plenty of simple tips to help you.

WINE

Tasting new wine is something best done with friends and food. All our Cooking Classes involve a wine in hand. With Table and Taste Club, you get to try perfectly matched wine each month and the best part is that we will give you exact instructions on where to order the matching wine, online. A simple click, from the comfort of your couch, and you can have your wine bottles ordered and posted within days.

FRIENDS

Life is about making memories with friends. We love that Table and Taste Club will become your no excuses reason to catch up with friends, creating your own food and wine experiences together.
